Tulachermet set a new monthly record in pig iron production
In June 2020, Tulachermet PJSC, a part of Industrial Metallurgical Holding (IMH), one of the largest global exporters of merchant pig iron, renewed its own production record when operating with two blast furnaces (BF). In a month, the company produced 234.6 Kt of pig iron, which is almost 5 Kt higher than the previous record, reached in May 2020.
“Tulachermet demonstrates record production results for the second month in a row. Also this year, the company for the first time produced more than 8 Kt of pig iron per day when operating with two furnaces. This is the result of successful overhaul of BF No.3 in March-April and professionalism of employees. The records are a perfect gift for the 85th anniversary, which the plant will celebrate this month," said Sergey Frolov, IMH Vice President for strategy and communications.
Currently, Tulachermet is implementing several investment projects that will allow it to further increase production efficiency. Among them there are reconstruction of BF No. 1 and construction of a new air separation unit.
